The maximum number of VCs that can be configured for Series 300/400
machines with a DIO backplane is 32/card. If a packet size of 256 bytes is
configured, the maximum number of VCs is 16/card. If the fast select
facility is enabled, the maximum number of VCs is 16/card.
The maximum number of VCs that can be configured for Series 800 machines
with a CIO (Mid-Bus) backplane is 64/card. The maximum number of VCs that
can be configured for Series 800 machines with an NIO backplane is 256/card.
The maximum number of VCs that can be configured for Series 700 machines
with an EISA backplane is 256/card.
The maximum numbers of VCs that is supported on a system (whatever the number
of cards) is 1024 VCs/spu.
The actual number of VCs that can be configured for a particular interface
depends on the packet size, frame size and level 2 window size setting.
